RW Carbon offers a vast array of front lip spoilers.  With so many choices on style and applications we are constantly faced with the question, “how do I install my new front lip spoiler?”   It is best to break down the front lip spoilers into a couple main categories.  Not all lip spoilers are made the same so they require different installation techniques.  The 2 categories mentioned below are merely the 2 most popular styles purchases.  If you have another style and need help with installation please do not hesitate to give us a call at 714.328.4408 or email us at info@rwcarbon.com.

Hollow Fiberglass Front Lip Spoilers

These are usually the most popular front lip style purchased.  A fiberglass base and carbon fiber overlay is the most affordable type and offers great fitment.   These will either be enclosed or have the rear of the lip open.  Either way the installation is quite similar.   As with any front lip spoiler test fitting before you start anything is a must.  We back our products with a fitment guarantee, but we always urge our customers to test fit any items before installation.   You will need 4-10 1″ – 1.5″ self taping screws (depending on application), washers, a 1/2″ and 1/16″ drill bit, a drill, a way to lift your vehicle and a helping hand.  A car lift is ideal, but jack stands can be used.  Lift your car to the ideal height to fit the drill under the front bumper.  Depending on application it will need to be lifted from 1-2 feet. Most lip spoilers will come with indented areas where you will need to drill.  This is where you will need the 1/2″ drill bit.  Drill each indented area out but be careful not to go through the other side.  After all holes have been drilled out use the 1/16″ drill bit to start a hole in the center of each 1/2″ hole.  Once all are drilled it is time to apply the front lip to the vehicle.  Use your helping hand to center it and hold it steady as you drill in each self taping screw (not not forget about the washers).  Apply some pressure and the screw will do all the work, just be careful not over tighten and strip out the screws.  Go through and do that to all the pre drilled holes.  Adjusting maybe needed as you screw in each one.

Solid Fiberglass Front Lip Spoilers

The installation process is very similar to that of a hollow front lip spoiler.  The only difference is that you will need a little longer self taping screw and you will no longer need to used a 1/2″ drill bit to drill the under layer.  Only one drill hole is required per screw and use a 1.5″ – 2.5″ self taping screw (depending on application).  Most applications using these 2 styles do not require 3M double sided tape.
