This year was BMW’s turn to make the headlines with their all new M4 GTS. This M4 is truly the pinnacle for BMW Performance. They have turned their far from ordinary BMW M4 into a, dare I say it, a super car. With its new radical design, lightened weight, tighter suspension, boosted power and eye for detail, some may argue this is one for the super car books. BMW has fed this M4 with all the most recent and impressive racing technology in order to give it a superior edge on the track and looking sleek and sexy sitting still in your garage.

The GTS team that put this M4 together is able to bring the driver that similar GTS race car feel, while still having a fully functional and street legal daily driver. This GTS Concept has definitely lived up to the hype surrounding its reveal this week. The design of the M4, although engineered very precisely, may have customers thinking; is some of this too much? Although, that is better left to the consumer to make up their minds. But one thing is for sure, this GTS model is definitely not designed for every BMW owner.

If you want that true race car feel and look then this is definitely the M4 for you. With its extremely aggressive carbon fiber aero kit, Frozen Dark Grey Metallic paint, OLED taillights and the acid orange accents on the wheels and lower front lip, this GTS will surely have any passerby gawking. The full aero kit includes an exposed carbon fiber wing, CF front lip spoiler and the BMW Performance Carbon Fiber Diffuser.

Being true to the BMW GTS name, the engineers could not leave the new GTS without giving it some additional race technologies under the hood. Some of these included a water-injection system. This system was first used on the BMW M4 MotoGP safety car and is used primarily in race cars. This system sprays a fine mist of water into the intake manifold, which then cools the intake temperature and enables the car to run harder for a longer period of time. This system is really essential to reduce knocking and keep power numbers high when speeding around a circuit.

In addition to the water injection system, BMW M engineers fitted this GTS with a highly developed cooling system and is comprised of a large main radiator paired with radiators for both the transmission and turbochargers. The turbos are cooled by an indirect intercooler that is a assisted by an electric water pump.

This GTS has everything it need to stand out in the day time, but what about at night? The BMW M Division has thought about that as well with their new OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) taillights. These produce full surface homogeneous illumination as compared to a standard LED that has a single point of light emission.

In addition to the full carbon fiber aero kit, the BMW M team decided to change up the hood as well. Adding a wicked looking cowl just in front of the M bump. This cowl has 2 purposes: first to look even more aggressive, but also to give the engine an addition way to vent hot air and keep its cool.

Last but certainly not least are the extravagant wheels with acid orange accents. These wheels are lightweight and fully forged, with a polished face to give them a shimmer as they drive down your favorite road at sunset. The wheel sizes are 19×9.5 front and an astounding 20×10.5 in the rear. They are paired with Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires, 265/35/R19 in the front and 285/30/R20 in the rear.
